A wonderful way to get protein is by consuming protein supplements and shakes. The best times to consume these supplements is right after working out and before bed. If you are looking to both lose weight and gain muscle, limit yourself to one of these supplements each day. If your goal is bulk, then consider drinking a protein shake with every meal. Carbs are necessary for building muscles. Carbohydrates serve as the energy source the body needs to complete workouts. It is recommended that, if you wish to train hard, that you should have three grams of carbohydrates for each pound that you weigh.
