Party members
I'm really hoping they will decide to add party members; whether they are characters that the player creates from scratch or pre-made characters. I don't think turn-based combat will be fun with only one character to control. You can't plan & execute much of a strategy if you have only one character. Without party members it may as well be a real-time action RPG.

RE: Party members
I don't really agree there. I think turn based games with a single character can be pretty fun... I dont really have a preference as to party vs 1 character myself. It really depends on how the game is made.

I can't even think of any games that have turn-based combat with a single playable character and think there's a good reason for that. (You start out with one playable character in Fallout 1&2 but you can recruit others).

There's a lot more strategy when you have a party than one character. It's not just a matter of which skill / spell you use by how / when you use it: Should I attack or heal my injured party member? Should I cast this AoE spell even though it will injure one of my party members? Do I have my warrior rush into battle or hold back and protect my weaker spellcaster, etc. Without multiple party members, these considerations don't come into play so I think turn-based combat with one character would likely be extremely monotonous.

RE: Party members
Hello,

It would be nice to see followers. It would be a big part of skills gameplay: tame animals, hire mercenaries, recruit native warriors as a result of quest, hire a bard or a healer you saved from death as a random encounter...
I wouldn't go for something really deep, followers could be easy to kill, and provide a few skill bonuses, or fight a little bit. The eaier they would be to gain, the easier they could be to lose.

So, for me, not really "party members", but only followers.

RE: Party members
Hmm if they would be to do "companions" of any sort I would rather have full control over them. AI in combat tends to only get in my way and on my nerve in any game I've seen the AI control my companion.

RE: Party members
Maybe for 'testing' purposes there could be one day some small quests with a partner before implementing such an option later in the game?

RE: Party members
I'm cool with followers so long as I don't have to choose their stats, their gear, and their every single move they do or do not make. I few simple commands and the rest is up to them. And they need to shut up all the time unless it is important.
