Battle skills. - cromcrom - 06-28-2013 12:52 AM We learned a few days ago that there are going to be battles in the game. I am wondering what kind of PC skills could be tied to battles ? This is really a brain storming thread, I have no clear ideas yet. Maybe some kind of "logistics", or "battle moral", that would increase the health regeneration of allied fighters around the PC ? Maybe some "hold ground" skill, that would increase the defense ? Those would really be skills, not spells, that is, the PC could gain experience by commanding battles. Maybe a "moral" feature could be needed, that would go up (ennemies killeds, more for standard bearers or leaders)or down (in case of friendly casualties) for NPC, and once it's too low, the NPCs would flee. So a skill would be usefull to keep moral high. Really brainstorming stuff, as the rest, as I have no clear idea of how the game will work ^^ RE: Battle skills. - anarchy - 06-29-2013 06:41 AM My opinion is that, to add moral to the NPC's is a good idea for the game The hold grounds option is good for the player in turn based battles, if the player don't want to attack, he can move to some kind of defense formation. But i think the hold the logistics make the game more complex and they RTS element's. I don't know any RPG games where there is some kind of logistics. If i know wrong, please say some game, i know that i'm not a big gamer RE: Battle skills. - cromcrom - 06-29-2013 03:54 PM Hi anarchy :-) again, those are only ideas, I never had the opportunity to set up big battle systems or skills in my mods, so I am a little off balance here. Logistics is just a name really. But I was imagining a skill or skills that would help the player turn the tide of events if he his really good at it. I think the most obvious thing is to regenerate health of the NPCs around. It could be triggered (and then use stamina), have a variable radius and power. So, as a great general, where the player is, things would "go better". But then my problem here is that it is not particularily tied to a "battle" event. But you are definitely right, as long as there is no strategy, I don't think there can be a good use of a real logistics skill. Just a brainstorming thread, really :-) RE: Battle skills. - anarchy - 06-29-2013 07:21 PM Hi Cromcrom I like your ideas, i just brainstroming too. I don't really know what i saying is true or false for a game I just running my brain. An old role played rpg game, Gorky-17 , there is a oppurtinity to take defense formation in it's own turn, and your attack will make more damage if you hit the enemies side or back. When i read your ideas about defense i remembered Gorky-17. For the Logistics i think about food supply, sorry for that But yes the stamina/health increase is a good idea for that |
